Immortals
Revitalize the Immortals brand, develop the new LA Valiant branding, lead and grow an industry leading video content team, design and launch new merchandise.
The Immortals like many esports organizations were young, new, and full of potential. What they lacked was experience and leadership. My role was to manage the visual communications of the brand and develop content that would stand out but yet stay true to the values of the Immortals. In the wake of a pending LCS announcement, i was to also focus on developing what would be their largest brand, the Los Angeles Valiant.
After a record breaking season Immortals League of Legends team was heading to the World Championships. After a Korean bootcamp, they were ready to go. We filmed their entire journey from Korea to China and achieved an industry FIRST. We put out a video DAILY in the run up to the qualifiers. After the success of the first couple of episodes, other esports brands tried to copy us but couldn’t keep with the pace and quality we were putting out.
I provided the creative direction, but the videos were produced by my amazing team of Ricky and AJ. They did something no one else could, all props to them.
News & Announcements
Throughout my time at Immortals there were a lot of sudden changes. We didn’t get into LCS and our CSGO team fell apart due to player misconduct. Our Noah’s Notes were in full swing by then and were lauded by much of our fanbase as a positive way to get the “real story” direct from our CEO’s mouth.
Additionally we thought it would be great to produce a “thank you” video to all our supporters thus far in League of Legends. Ricky and AJ in particular felt it hardest emotionally and thus i let them drive it and choose how they felt best did justice for the fans. My only main creative direction was to put that ending back in, but i am still very proud of what they did and stand by it.
