Los Angeles Valiant
Making esports history. The first Overwatch League city based franchise.
I was tasked with developing, managing, and launching the Los Angeles Valiant. Working closely with Blizzard we fine tuned the logo, styleguide, branding, and assets. From there the team and i worked tirelessly to bring the brand to life via a roster hype video unlike anything the Overwatch scene has seen, merchandise, ongoing video content, stream graphics, on-ground activation, and graphic design. We were ranked the top OWL team for best-in-class content and brand launch. I am immensely proud of the team’s work to make the LA Valiant a clear top of mind brand in the OWL.
The Brand Launch
We started out by having a hybrid Noah’s Notes video where he laid out the new brand and announced some key initiatives. Following this we released a roster reveal video that completely broke the standard esports content mold, set to a famous William Blake poem. A standard Noah’s Notes video then followed which gave more context on the roster.
Season Launch
The run up to the season launch meant a flurry of lots of last minute activity. Video, design, booths, activation, etc., all were needed. It was a crazy hectiv time but seeing our boys up there go undefeated after week 1 sure made a lot of us proud. Our biggest campaign was the pre-launch leading up into the season launch, we had a video that released along with a billboard, web banners, and on-ground activations where we gave away exclusive merch and other giveaways. Collegiate watch parties kicked off at the UCI as well.
